Valery Legasov Chernobyl Interview (1986)

Airing on NBC in 1986, this Valery Legasov interview took place at the time of the International Atomic Energy Agency conference in Vienna. American host Carol Marin asks Legasov if all of the Chernobyl type reactors should be shut down instead of repaired, given the design flaws. The scientist responds by saying that after the flaws were understood, measures were taken so that reactors of that type can operate safely into the future.
