Donald Trump Says He Would Love To Be a Well-Educated Black Man

This clip of Donald Trump is featured in the Netflix miniseries When They See Us. The original footage was from a special that NBC aired on race in America, which debuted in September 1989, roughly five months after the rape of the Central Park jogger in April of that year. In speaking about the job market at the time, Trump said that "a well-educated black has a tremendous advantage over a well-educated white." He then goes one step further and says, "If I were starting off today, I would love to be a well-educated black because I really believe they do have an actual advantage, today." Later in the program, director Spike Lee criticizes Trump's remarks. Related Article: When They See Us: History vs. Hollywood
