Hall of Fame NBA player Nat "Sweetwater"
Clifton made history when he became the
first black player to sign an NBA contract
in the fall of 1950. It's worth noting
that he wasn't the first black man to play
in an NBA game. Earl Lloyd of the
Washington Capitols had played in a game
in October 1950, prior to Sweetwater.
