Amputee Patrick Downes Finishes Boston Marathon 3 Years After Bombings
In April 2016, Patrick Downes finished the
120th Boston Marathon just three years
after the terrorist bombings that claimed
his left leg and both legs of wife Jessica
Kensky, whom he immediately embraced after
crossing the finish line. Both Downes and
his wife had completed the 26.2-mile
marathon on handcylces in 2014.
