The Crown trailer for the
Netflix TV series starring Claire Foy as
Queen Elizabeth II, Matt Smith as Philip,
and John Lithgow as Prime Minister Winston
Churchill. At a time when Britain was
still recovering from World War II and the
empire was in decline, Elizabeth took the
throne as a matter of duty after her
father, King George VI, passed away. The
first season of the series chronicles her
ascension to the throne and the
difficulties her new role posed, in
particular for her husband Philip.
