This 1960 newsreel covers Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev's announcement that the U-2 spy plane wreckage had been recovered, along with American pilot Francis Gary Powers. The U.S. response is also highlighted, which led to an uncomfortable subsequent meeting between President Eisenhower and Khrushchev, with Khrushchev launching into an insulting tirade directed at President Eisenhower.
