Light, Miep Gies has five foster
brothers. Early in the series, we learn
that one of the brothers, Casmir 'Cas'
Nieuwenburg, is a gay man. In this
episode, we reveal whether Cas is actually
based on one of Miep Gies' foster
brothers, or whether he is fictional.
Miep's husband Jan's involvement with the
gay resistance fighters in the series is
also discussed.
