Jon Krakauer and his mentor and friend Tom Hornbein, author of the mountaineering classic Everest: The West Ridge, talk about climbing the world's tallest mountain. Hornbein and Willi Unsoeld made the first successful ascent of Everest's West Ridge and the first traverse of a major Himalayan peak on May 22, 1963.
