Italian-American bouncer Tony Lip (Viggo
Mortensen) is hired to drive Dr. Don
Shirley (Mahershala Ali), a world-class
black pianist, as he embarks on a tour
from Manhattan to the Deep South in 1962.
They turn to "The Green Book" to figure
out which venues are safe enough for
African-Americans. Along the way, they
confront racism and danger while forging a
friendship that transcends color barriers.
