this story of the Dunkirk evacuation that
took place during World War II. It
happened after large numbers of British,
French and Belgian troops were cut off
during the Battle of France and surrounded
by German forces. Facing imminent death or
capture, the Allies devised a plan to
evacuate the soldiers from the beaches of
Dunkirk, France.
